Why border lying?

In today’s society many people don’t like recycling because they see no point in it. However there is a few that do recycling. It all depends on where the person lives and how they have being brought up. Many people like to think that just because they walking and turn off their light it means that they are being sustainable, but there is more to sustainable living than that.

Yes I will say that in the further I will like to drive rather than walk, even though I know it is not that sustainable. The problem with people who don’t live sustainable live is that they are denial of the issue and don’t want to deal with it, but for now I would rather walk and live a sustainable life so that the next generation will benefit from my action.

Although a car will be a fast way of getting to where ever I want, it’s not sustainable. My dream house will be to live in a big house, but I would like to live in an area which is sustainable and does lots of recycling. The government need to be tougher on living sustainable, the places that are less sustainable should be made to live sustainable by enforcing a rule that it is a crime not to be sustainable.

South Africa would be one of my ideal places to go on holiday. Because it has a nice whether climate, and I will not need to worry about living sustainably. I would rather have a cheapest handset, rather than a smart phone. It does not cost a lot and does not have a big impact on the climate.  I will not mind giving up shopping for a month or two, a year is too long.  I love to shop; shopping is a part of me. Giving it up for a year will be very difficult for me because  I like buying thing for my family and myself.

I love eating my fruit and I will find it hard to give up eating fruit. I like to eat it as snacks, and it makes me feel that am eating healthy. There is still hope to make change in the world today; the government should be more forceful in making people live sustainable. There should be a law put in place, where people are made to recycle.

Although many people are lazy to do live a sustainable life, by putting the laws in place it will stop people being lazy. One way of thing the government can do to improve people being lazy and living a sustainable life is by building new houses and changes the areas that are not sustainable. I am sure that deep inside people want to live sustainably but don’t know how to.

All the local authorities should have a centre where people can get information on living more sustainably, they should also have the community all join together and work towards building a better sustainable community and life.

An Inconvenient Truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The purpose of the movie is to show people how global warming is effecting the world and how their action effect everybody around them. When the movie first stared it did not interest me but as I continued to watch it, it caught my attention. In addition what made me lose interest in the movie was the tittle, as I did not understand how it linked with the purpose of the movie.

But as the video went on I began to get the link between the two. I like the fact that he starts of by having a picture and talking in the background. This is very effect as it makes people see how the environment looked before global warming started. From the beginning of the movie the message was very clear, throughout the movie I did not forget what the message was about.  He uses powerful images to get this point across. The most effective part for me in the movie was when he showed the picture the South Pole and other famous place, of how they looked before global warming and how they look now.

Images used in the video played an important part in making sure that the movie is effect.  I disliked the fact that he had personal stories in the video, I don’t think that it has anything to do with message he wants to get across.  The movie made me think of how my actions affect the earth and the people round me.    The right information where used in order to get people to see how their actions have affected the earth. Some parts of the movie I found boring, for example when he talks about the research  his teacher did.

The reason why the movie is effect is because it points out how the world has changed. Even though I knew how my global warming affected the earth, the movie made me it more real to me. Furthermore I got to see how badly global warming has affected people, making me think of what I can do to help reduce these effect.   I learnt the reason why the rate of carbon dioxide goes up each year.   The movie was not too technical or confusing, it is very clear and goes straight to the point it wants to make. The movie is very irrelevant as it shows people the impact of global warming and what will happen to the earth if they don’t do anything about it.

How sustainable is my community?

Withhin the past few years there has being talks of sustainable communities in Britain.  Sustainable communities are communities planned and built to encourage sustainable living. It comprises sustainability aspects which relate to development such as:
·         water transportation
·          energy
·         waste
·         materials
The Sustainable Communities Act 2007 was put in place to promote the sustainability of local communities. In addition it also helps the council to think of new ways of improving the quality of life and wellbeing in their local areas.  In the community I live in I personally think that it is partly sustainable. It is also known for its crime rates. Many people living in the community do not know each other and most of them keep to themselves.
Every household is given a recycling bag; many people try their best to recycle. There are only a few amounts of people that own a bike, most people chose to drive or take public transport. There are lots of local shops around, this helps lots of the people as, it is only a walking distance from their house. There is a big park where the children and adults can play and spend time as a family. There is a centre for young children and youth to go into; this keeps them from getting into trouble. The majority of young people and children attend schools. There are two nurseries one which is private and another which is owned by the local council.
Most of the houses are not central heating and all have hot water. Most people try to turn their lights down when it is not in use. The local council has thought of new ways of getting people more improved in reducing their CO2. The market square is not a long walk from most of the houses, so people walk to the market.
There are different services which are provided in my community:
·         bupa services for the elderly
·         nurseries
·         primary schools
·         after school clubs
·         GPs
Furthermore most of the people have access to health care. In order to make the community sustainable, they are breaking all the old houses and building new ones which will be more sustainable and will be less of a risk to the environment. The once that are not being broken down are getting new heating systems and other things. In addition the council has placed bins for people to put their dog waste in.
Every year they hold an event where all the people living in the community can get together. In order to make the community more sustainable, they have the bin men to come collect each of the household’s rubbish, also people are fine if they do not recycle. They get some of the children and adults to help pit up rubbish that people have left on the ground. In what the government classifies as a sustainable community, I will say my community is not a sustainable community. Many people are not bored about what their action does to the environment.

How sustainable is my lifestyle?

Many people live different lifestyles, and are not aware of the implication of their action on the environment. For example people that live in undeveloped countries have less knowledge of how their actions can affect the environment. Whereas some people do but chose not to acknowledge it, people who live in developed countries have the knowledge but they chose not to do anything about it.
There are only a few people that are willing to do something to change the environment.  Although I am aware of the implications of my action has on the environment, I choose to little to help change the environment. I try my best to switch off the lights, cooker, iron and taps when I finish using them. I also try to get more information on how I can be more sustainable, and others thing I can do to help the environment.
The government has developed different strategies to help people become more sustainable.  Within my house hold we use energy saving light, as the years have gone on many people have started to use more of these bulbs. They use up 80 per cent less electricity than a standard bulb, but produce the same amount of light. By using theses lights it helps people save money as well as help the environment. I try to recycle as much as I can. In addition I try to walk rather than taking the bus or a car.
The way people live their lives is having a major impact on the environment; the amount of co2 is growing by the day. There has been an escalating loss of biodiversity, from the rainforest to fish stocks. This is causing most of the animals to lose their home. The governments are trying to get more people to use less waste. As time as gone by it has become more obvious that humans are the reason why we have this problem, and it is up to us to solve this issue. I would like to do more to help change the environment, by doing more than I already do.
